This is my completed film poster

Task 2 evaluation

I took this picture for my poster as the film is about two gay people who are in constant arguments and this picture sums it up perfectly for me as they are standing back to back looking up and down as if they are looking for another way out of this.

I edited it this way to suggest that they are both going separate ways however they will both end up in the blue of the the poster. This means that they are both getting tired and depressed because of this relationship suggesting the further they grow apart the more depressed they get.

The title is the next best thing. I got this idea from the film Marley and me as in the film marley is the next best thing that the owner has after his wife leaving him and what the tittle suggests is that these two people are the next best thing showing there love for each other however they're in conflict a lot of the time

I chose the font cookie cutter and put a inner shadow in it to make it suggest that the love cuts like a knife and has a darker side .

The slogan Love is never a straight line is red to show the colour of love however it is on a straight line suggesting that the slogan contradicts itself as this love is a straight line and it is only going one way and it is getting the quickly. As well this would go to my audience well as love is a well rounded subject for all ages to witness

My poster consists of a blue and red background and a picture in the middle and this is because of the fact that blue means depressed and red means love and as the picture slowly makes its way to the blue side it is showing that there relationship is deteriorating.

my process to make this poster was a rollercoaster ride.
1. I originally made a poster with one person in it and it was quite dark however I decided with some help from friends that it is hard to show a relationship with only one person in the poster
2. So I then went on to create a poster with silhouettes talking to each other however I forgot that i had to take a picture to feature in the poster so then that idea was out the window.
3. Then I made a poster with a different image and a different background and I tried to make it look like we where moving on the picture however I struggled with the creation of it
4. So finally I decided to make the final poster with the picture looking good.

then i copy and pasted a few of them and began to make them go underneath each other and turn the opacity down and the fill down to make it look like they were fading away
